What we collect
RoadTake collects minimal data to operate the service:
- Trip inputs — your starting city, budget, duration, and preferences. Used to generate your itinerary.
- Email address — collected only when you pay. Used to retrieve your trips across devices and manage your subscription via Stripe.
- Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We never store your card details.
- Trip data — generated itineraries saved in your browser (localStorage) and optionally in our database (Supabase) linked to your email.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your name, phone number, address, or any personal information beyond your email. We don't run ads and we don't sell your data.
How we use your data
- To generate AI road trip itineraries via OpenAI's API
- To display maps and route directions via Google Maps API
- To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
- To save and retrieve your trips across devices
Third-party services
RoadTake uses the following third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
- OpenAI — AI itinerary generation
- Google Maps — mapping and routing
- Stripe — payment processing
- Supabase — trip storage
- Booking.com, Viator, Discover Cars, EKTA — affiliate booking links
Cookies and storage
We use browser localStorage to save your trips and preferences on your device. We don't use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can delete your saved trips at any time from the My Trips page. To request deletion of your email and trip data from our database, contact us and we'll remove it within 7 days.
